On Saturday I had the pleasure of being a vendor at Behind the Picket Fence, a vintage, art, and craft fair in Sheridan, Wyoming. It was a great show, and I can’t wait for the spring one coming up!
Let’s get this straight – I really enjoyed being a vendor at this show. Sometimes, though, I wish I could just be a shopper! This show, especially, was just chock full of excellent items: antique bottles, vintage dresses, a number of awesome refurnished furniture, and even some excellent smelling soaps and bath crystals. I was inspired by so many things, but most of them I had to admire from a distance, which is always a bummer! (However, I realize this may be a blessing in disguise, as if I was merely a shopper I would probably be broke right now.)
The Wyoming Culinary Institute served lunch, which was excellent as well. My booth was right next to the food window, so I was smelling butternut squash soup and grilled cheese sandwiches all day. Not a bad barrage to the senses. Right across from me was Cupcakes by Debbie – she had mounds upon mounds of cupcakes in addition to lots of other sweet treats, clever signs, and a bunch of beautiful vintage cake plates. I was lucky enough to snatch one up before they sold out!
Red Shed Redos, a vintage shop out of Sheridan, were our marvelous hosts. They put together a great show, and have the cutest things to sell!
Ultimately, it was a lovely and successful day. Thanks to everyone who came out to support local handmade businesses!
